The Story
Daniel Takes A Train were originally formed in 1986 from the songwriting partnership of Paul and Daniel, Rupert and James completed the original line up shortly after. To get the polished 80's sound they were looking for, they added Paul on sax, Bert ..boards and Emma on backing vocals.

DTAT had a loyal following and played many prestigous venues on the thriving 80's London circuit. The Astoria, Ronnie Scotts, The Empire Leicester Square, The Hammersmith Palais and The Limelight Club all played host to the band and although unsigned they recieved plenty of press attention, notably when gatecrashing the Brit Awards in 1987 when Top Radio 1 DJ Peter Powell declared their arrival as the highlight of the entire evening.
Peter Powell Talks DTAT
The band never got that all important deal and although they had plenty of interest from several major labels of the day, they reluctantly had to call it a day when Dan left these shores to live in Barcelona (cheers Dan, how's your tan!).
In April 2008, new life was breathed into the band when they won through to the last two in a competition ran by Virgin/Absolute radio. DTAT are as busy now as at any time in the 80's and exciting times lie ahead. Watch this space and never say never!...
